New Kate Gosselin Book Tanks Hard

Kate Gosselin's latest book isn't exactly flying off the shelves, which is a good thing too, because if it were, the apocalypse might be imminent.

Since its April 13 release, I Just Want You to Know: Letters to My Kids on Love, Faith, and Family has sold 10,084 copies, according to reports.

That's 10,084 more than we'd hope, but still a low total.

Gosselin's new non-fiction title debuted at #11 on the New York Times' non fiction bestseller list, and at #103 on USA Today's bestsellers chart.

By Thursday afternoon, its Amazon rank was #862.

This is in spite of Kate Gosselin relentlessly hawking the book (while being absent from the kids, ironically), and being on Dancing with the Stars.

Has the book-buying public tired of Kate?
Jim Milliot, business and news director of Publishers Weekly, recently stated that the numbers "nowhere near a blockbuster" and "not that impressive."

Not that surprising, either. A Kate Gosselin book about parenting? After all this? Would you buy a Lindsay Lohan book on teetotalling? Just curious.

By contrast, the 35-year-old mom's first two books, Multiple Blessings and Eight Little Faces, both climbed to number five on the New York Times' list.

Multiple Blessings sold 523,000 copies in 2009.

I Just Want You to Know "continues [Kate's] story of faith and family. Using excerpts and written prayers from her journal, Kate offers an intimate look at the heart of a mother during the years her family transitioned from obscurity to fame."

In related news, Jon Gosselin is reportedly penning a memoir, I Just Want to Hit That: A Divorced Father of Eight's Quest For Mediocre Rebound Girls.

It's official. Jon and Kate Gosselin are divorced.


It also looks like financially, Jonny Boy is up $h!t creek without a paddle, because he owes big bucks for child support he'll have a hard time paying.


Mark Momjian, Kate's lawyer, says as per the divorce, "Our client will continue to reside with all eight of her children in the former marital home."


Kate has primary custody and Jon gets visitation, which both wanted. Neither party will get spousal support, but child support is another matter.


As for who got what, those terms were determined through arbitration, and Momjian simply said, "We are very pleased with the final outcome."


With good reason. Jon must make huge child support payments - think five figures a month - and this is after TLC has legally muzzled the moron.

Kate Gosselin has many reasons to smile after her attorney opened up a can of legal whoop ass on Jon - who's on the hook for big monthly bucks - in divorce court.


Jon's ability to make money, ironically, has effectively been jeopardized by his own fame-whoring in recent months, breaching his TLC contract.


He also can blame himself for the end of Jon & Kate Plus 8.


To add insult to injury, the Ed Hardy-wearing douchebag was charged every penny of that $235,000 that he withdrew from their joint account.


That amount - which he hilariously claimed he withdrew because he thought it was payday - was sliced off of his piece of the divorce settlement.


As for Jon's claim that Kate also tried to steal money, Jon struck out as the arbitrator determined every penny she took out for the kids' benefit.


Talk about striking out ... possibly worse than he did the other night, when he was told in no uncertain terms to quit stalking Hailey Glassman.

A couple of strong women and (mostly) popular figures, Kate Gosselin and Sarah Palin, lead Barbara Walters' list of the 10 Most Fascinating People of the year.

For better or worse, the reality TV mother of eight and former governor / V.P. nominee are certainly fascinating. You just can't look away from what they do.

Same is true of car wrecks on the other side of the highway, but no matter. Few get people talking like Kate and Sarah - or a certain new big name in music.

Controversial American Idol alum Adam Lambert, whose music and sexually charged performances make him a tabloid staple, is another member of the list.

Singer/rumored hermaphrodite Lady Gaga, annoying NFL star Brett Favre, Tyler Perry, and Fox News personality Glenn Beck made the top 10 of '09 as well.

Perhaps the most intriguing inclusion? Jenny Sanford, the wife of philandering South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford, will also be interviewed by Barbara Walters.

The special, Barbara Walters Presents: The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2009, airs on ABC December 9. Who is your most fascinating person of 2009?

The way things are going lately, we'd think Rachel Uchitel and Jaimee Grubbs would be in a dead heat for the #1 spot, with Levi Johnston a close second.
