Innovative abstract style Art by NYC Celebrity Artist Marko Stout

Marko Stout is a contemporary New York City artist who uses universal archetypes, symbolism and collective unconscious imagery to examine the human condition and the mind-body experience. Marko holds doctorates in medicine and metaphysics, as well as a degree in biology.

Dr. Stout's abstract work offers the viewer a very different way to look at the world, forcing the observer to go beyond a traditional western materialistic world view and look at the universe as active and living.  Markos' belief that human beings can never truly know the nature of reality is the dominate theme of his art work leaving the viewer asking "what is real" and "is reality just an illusion"?

Marko strongly rejects Descartes' dualism in which consciousness and matter are separate entities. Dr. Stout's views matter and the mind as intimately linked. Marko Stout' belief in an active alive universe were everything is interconnected is reflected in his dynamic paintings and art works.

Marko Stout’s eagerly awaited upcoming exhibit “The Cave” is scheduled to open in New York City in the autumn of 2011

Dr. Stout holds degrees in medicine, metaphysics and biology. Upon completing his education in New York City Marko spent time traveling though Europe, the Caribbean and  living aboard a houseboat in Sausalito and sailing the San Fransisco Bay. Dr. Stout spent much time sketching human anatomy and illustrating human physiology while a student and also when teaching during his college lectures. When in California Marko discovered the use of acrylics and other mediums that would eventually lead to his vibrant abstract style.

His outsider "art brut" style provides the viewer with a spiritual experience through the brilliant twisting of human anatomy with psychological and mythical archetypes. Marko often refers to his innovative art for as "academic visionary" which is a reference to both its cognitive and spiritual nature. This movement rejects many of the current trends of uninspired decorative corporate art and materialistic products of classically trained commercial graphic artists.
